Why CIRQ and what is it?

I’m Steve Bridgeman, a Creative Director who’s done a bit of everything!

With over 20 years of global experience in branding, product development, and exhibition design, my career has taken me from freelancing at agencies around Manchester to working with major brands like British Airways, Hero Cycles, and Electronic Arts. My passport is pretty full of stamps too, working in places like Los Angeles, Hawaii, Spain, the UAE, Germany, and India. You could call me an ‘Analog to Digital Native’!

I see all design as a form of communication – products, images, and words each speak to us in their own way. By embracing a cross-disciplinary approach and drawing inspiration from the world around us, I aim to create innovative and meaningful work that breaks down barriers between mediums to deliver more impactful results.

The creation of CIRQ represents the full circle of my creative journey together with my love of bicycles and my work in the bicycle industry. The name “CIRQ” felt right, symbolizing that journey while evoking the excitement of a circus – a place of entertainment and spectacle. In an era where marketing has become obsessed with metrics, we’ve lost sight of the power of engaging, memorable messaging. With CIRQ, I want to bring back ‘sticky’ advertising and design that entertains, cuts through the noise, or as they used to say at Ogilvy, ‘be less boring!
