The earliest Mixte frame design was in 1901 but the style gained poularity in the 1960s, driven by a growing demand for a versatile and accessible bicycle, especially for women. The term “Mixte” comes from the French word for “mixed,” highlighting its appeal to both genders.
Mixte frames are recognised for their unique structure, featuring two sloping top tubes that create a more open and lower step-through profile. This design not only makes it easier to mount and dismount but also enhances stability and comfort, making it an ideal choice for city commuting and leisurely rides.
In designing the Molina, I aimed to create a bike that showcases elegant attention to detail and flowing lines. The Molina is equipped with the convenience of disc brakes and a 5-speed hub gear. The bike is named after Maria Molina, a renowned French courtier to Marie-Thérèse, Queen of France.
